The house in Neapoli could be extended.

The house that could be extended by.

The small, one bedroom house for sale in Neapoli (see earlier entry) could be extended to become a 3 bedroom house with one en suite bathroom and one family bathroom, and also a larger courtyard could be created.  How?  The house is part of a building which contains other houses.  Attached to the small house, is one of the other houses, which is at the moment, uninhabitable.   It consists of three rooms and a basement, and is for sale.  It would therefore be possible to live in the small habitable house, and at the same time do renovations to the other house.    At the end of the renovations, the new owner would end up with a three bedroom house with 2 bathrooms, 2 balconies, and 2 courtyards.  Also, parking would be very easy for this extended house.  The uninhabitable house is on the market at 33.000 euros, and we think that a deal could be done here.

Living in Neapoli is a wonderful experience.  You would not even need a car, as the bus service from Neapoli is excellent.  There are lots of places to eat, a taverna on the square which does wonderful Greek food, a Pizzeria just 2 minutes walk from the house where again the standard of food is excellent, several other small cafeneons dotted around Neapoli, and just one mile away in Latsida the wonderful Sauvlaki taverna well renowned from miles around and packed after 10 o'clock every night.
If you live in Neapoli during the winter months, and you are at a loose end in the evenings, you could always walk to the local cinema, and watch one of the latest films in English, sub titles in Greek.

The house in Neapoli

PICTURES OF NEAPOLI
A really nice, one bedroom house, but can sleep 4 people in privacy, is for sale in the lovely old farming town of Neapoli, about 15 minutes away from beautiful beaches.  The town boasts many amenities including a cinema, hospital, museum, courthouse and numerous churches.  There are notaries , architects, dentists and doctors in abundance. Life centres on very large square in the middle of the town, surrounded by cafes and shops where one can sit back, enjoy a drink, chat and watch the world go by.
Buses leave the square regularly for destinations around the island, making it an ideal spot to buy in if you do not want to have a car.

This one bedroom house for sale is away from, but not far from the high street in   Neapoli.   The house is entered from a small courtyard.  The sitting room is roomy and light, there are telephone and television points here.  The open-plan dining area and well designed kitchen are beyond the sitting room.  A circular staircase situated by the dining area leads upstairs to the pleasant bedroom with balcony, bathroom (shower, no bath) and door to the back terrace where one can enjoy the views of the mountains around Neapoli.   And the price,  unbelievably well under €100,000.

A House in Limnes

Don't forget, if you want to sell or buy a house in Crete, then email me at buyincrete@yahoo.co.uk.  We have several houses on our books, and yesterday we introduced a small but superb house for sale in Latsida.  Today, we will describe a house for sale in the beautiful village of Limnes.

Limnes is about 4 miles from Latsida, a lot bigger than Latsida and has several tavernas, cafeneons, shops, a museum and a large building just outside the village for wedding receptions, etc.  As with nearly all Cretan villages, this village abounds with churches.

The house is being renovated at the moment, and hopefully should be ready by the end of April.  It is in a delightful position up a pretty lane, at the centre of the village.  The traditional cretan entrance gate leads you into the charming courtyard.   The front door into the house leads you into a spacious hall.  On the ground floor level are two bedrooms, two bathrooms and the hall which can be utilised as an office if desired. Internal [and external stairs from the courtyard] lead up to the large L-shaped open plan living area, which consists of a large kitchen and defined dining and seating areas. From the living area, large patio style doors lead onto the generous terrace, from which the views are breathtaking. .  You can see the villages of Houmeriako, Vrisses, Nikithiano, and Neapoli.  Also, high in the mountains can be seen the ancient site of Driros.      Griffon Vultures can be seen from the terrace, as they soar into the air looking for food.  Goats and sheep can be seen being shepherded onto their mountain pastures.  Its a delightful spot to sunbathe on, or sit in the shade sipping a cool glass of wine.

If you would like more details of this, or of the house in Latsida, or you would like details of other houses, then email us, we would like to hear from you.

Houses for sale or houses wanted in Crete

If there is anybody out there looking to buy a house on the beautiful island of Crete, or looking to sell a house there, then email me on buyincrete@yahoo.co.uk.  If you are looking to buy a house, we will try to find a house to match your requirements, if you are selling your house, then we will put your house details on three websites that specialise in selling houses in Crete.  We know of several houses for sale in the villages of Latsida, Limnes, Houmeriako, Kritsa, plus many other villages in North Eastern Crete, and houses for sale in towns like  Sissi, Neapolis, Sitia etc.  We also know of new build houses for sale near Rethymnon, and a wonderful 3 storey house for sale in Heraklion.

A house has just come on the market in the delightful village of Latsida, about 2 kilometres from Neapoli.  Latsida boasts a wonderful taverna on the main road that specialises  in souvlaki, people come from miles around to taste the wonderful food at Nicos's taverna.  By 9 o'clock, there are a few people enjoying their food and drinks, but by 10 it is packed to the rafters.  People turn up in their cars all evening, and wait patiently for a table to become available.  At 1 or 2 in the morning, the last customers wend there way home from this delightful cafeneon.

The house for sale in Latsida is delightful, though small.  It is a one bedroom house, recently renovated, and only just repainted.  The living area is divided by a huge magnificent kamara, (Greek stone arch).  The bedroom is more than large enough to take a double bed, and there is a shower room off of the bedroom.  Back into the living room, there is a staircase that leads to the roof terrace.  From the terrace there are wonderful views of the mountains, you can even see Neapoli.  The price, only 115,000 euros.
